Funktion Auto recently preformed regular maintenance on 2008 E63 Mercedes and their expertise/customer service was truely impressive. Not only did they do a great job, but they also got the car washed and waxed with a moment's notice. And while it may sound like a simple thing...the car was ready when they said it would be...nothing more valuable than a company who delivers a quality product/service on time!!!

Just a quick note to let you and your staff know how much I’m enjoying my “new” Mini. It runs beautifully (although it took me a few miles to get used to a clutch that engages less than a foot off the floor :)

I want to thank Funktion Auto for the recent work performed on my 2003 E55 AMG. I had the car in because it was running poorly and not producing reliable power. Funktion diagnosed the problem and quickly determined that the super high IATs were the result of a faulty aftermarket heat exchange pump. Within 2 days, they had ordered the part from the supplier, installed it and tested it to make sure it was working as intended. The aftermarket supplier mentioned that the install might not work, but Funktion completed it in less than 2 hours.

The car was now making reliable horsepower and I asked Funktion what else could be done, given that most of the modifications on my car had already been performed. Funktion went to the drawing board and came back with a custom x-pipe design, a custom aluminum air-duct to funnel more cold air into the poorly designed stock air intake system, and found a vendor that made high flow catalytic converters at an excellent price. While they were at it, they installed aftermarket HID headlights which I was told was not possible by Mercedes Benz.

Once installed, Funktion had the car dynoed on a dynonamics dynometer – it made excellent power. Now that the car was running right, the last test was to take it down the 1320. I had not planned on taking the car drag racing, but given a complete makeover, I decided to give it a go hoping for high 11s as my best pass prior was a 12.20@119.6 mph.

The very next day the car made two passes with an 11.11@126.2mph and another at 11.41@126.57. The car is the fastest non-nos W211 E55 AMG and the second quickest.

Funktion also noted that the dyno illustrated room to improve the tune for another 25+ rwhp by advancing the timing. I am looking forward to my next visit at Funktion auto and I HIGHLY recommend that anyone serious about wanting to produce reliable horsepower for your import or exotic to check these guys out. Right when you walk into the shop you are surrounding by roughly a million dollars in precious exotics. You then quickly realize that you are not in your typical hot rod shop but in a tuner museum with a super clean garage, highly knowledgeable and accessible technicians and superior customer service and excellent pricing and value.

The measure of true excellence is the rejection of mediocrity. If your car is more than a means of transportation and leaving it with a bunch of strangers evokes separation anxiety then look no further than Funktion Auto.
