Van der Steur Racing and Funktion Auto Hold
Private Test Day
Summit Point, WV (June 13th) - Van der Steur Racing,
based in Havre de Grace, MD, held a private test day at
Summit Point Motorsports Park to test and tune their
brand new Radical SR9. Along for the ride, and to
test their own heavily modified Radical SR3, was
Funktion Auto..
Having only recently recieved their SR9,
Van der Steur Racing needed to get in some track time
before they debut the car at Petit Le Mans in Atlanta,
Georgia. The day was important not only because it
provided a great opportunity to get some seat time in,
but also because it marked the SR9's arrival in the US.
The Van der Steur Racing SR9 is the first in America and
only the third produced by Radical. The car has been
designed to compete in the American Le Mans series, the
European Le Mans series, and the classic 24 Hours of Le
Mans.
The day couldn't have gone better as both cars performed
flawlessly. It is clear that with the
modifications made to their SR3, Funktion Auto has one
of the quickest SR3's in the country. And what
of the SR9? It was blistering fast around the
Shenandoah Circuit, exceeding expectations and
establishing itself as the next great Radical vehicle.
