Radical SR8
Even before it’s launch at Autosport International 2005, nearly twenty advance
orders were taken for the all-new Radical SR8.
Based on the SR3 Turbo chassis, the SR8 is powered by the amazing Powertec RPA
2.6 liter macroblock V8 motor, which produces 360bhp and revs to 10,500rpm.
Drive is via a Powertec-Quaife six-speed sequential transaxle with integral
torque biasing limited-slip differential. With an all-up weight under 600kg, the
SR8 possesses 600bhp per ton of smooth, controllable power.
All-new bodywork incorporates a new front with integral high-downforce diffuser
and dive planes, new high-downforce side pods/skirts and a remodeled, low drag
rear with a bi-plane rear wing. Wind tunnel test have confirmed that at it’s
maximum speed of 170mph, the SR8 produces enough downforce to support it’s own
weight, full load of fuel, and a driver.
The sound, sight and performance of the SR8 brings a Le Mans prototype
experience to the discerning club racer and trackday enthusiast at a fraction of
the cost.
